The Seedhouse Slow Roll

Langara Island Fishing Resorts - August 16, 2007

The summer weather has finally broken and Langara is now covered in low cloud with some rain. Our engineer, feeling the autumn dampness in his bones, believes the rain will swell the streams and rivers and bring the fish in-shore.

He could be right. Action has definitely picked up in the last 24 hours with a 40 lb. Chinook coming from Langara Rocks and some nice ones in the 20 lb. range coming from Cohoe and Andrews. 50 to 90 pulls seems to be the key depth right now, but our captain also nabbed on one at 20 pulls. So, as always, keep your lines spread out.

The Coho bite is still strong at the second or third tide-line. Overall the “Jack Seedhouse slow-roll-with-no-tail-flop” is proving most effective as a bait cut right now.
