Queen Charlotte Islands, M. V. Marabell, Langara I

MV Marabell - June 4, 2001

Greetings from the MV Marabell anchored at Langara Island in the Queen Charlotte Islands. Late May salmon fishing has been hot this year with a large run of white Chinooks in the Tyee category. One guest boated a beautifully ugly 53 lb Spring on the North Side of Cape Knox using a large herring mooched at 30 pulls. Also of note, another guest landed a 200-pound halibut from his secret spot near Lacy Island, fishing salmon bellies injected with something called "Butt Juice." When asked what "Butt Juice" was made of he smiled slyly and whispered "eleven secret herbs and spices." Tight lines!
