The past few days at Langara Island have seen some of the nicest weather and fishing of the season. Off shore bottom fishing trips run by acclaimed super fishmaster Shawn Pennell from the MV Charlotte Princess have produced halibut in the fifty pound class, Lingcod 30-40 pound class and yellow eye in the fifteen pound class with one monster coming in at 32 pounds.
The deep fishing for salmon which has been the mainstay for this season has been punctuated by shallow water action for big Chinook at Gunia Pt and Bruin Bay. The average size of Chinook have increased as bigger and bigger fish hit the docks every day.
