Although we are still anxiously awaiting the main mixed migrations of Chinook, the large fish coming in are keeping things exciting. Molly Zimmerman won the last group with a 43 lb. slab from Cohoe Point, narrowly beating out and smashing the winning Chinook clock dreams of Pat Powell with a 40 pounder. 30, 27, 38, 29, 29, 42, 41, 36, 32, 29, 28 and 26 are some of the other nice fish coming in between the two ships.
We also seen several large halibut, including a 130 pounder from the MV Marabell, a 77 and 44 from Lori and Kent Montgomery, a 75 from Dave Baldock, a 67 by Richiard Mclean and a 78 by Pete Germeau, to name a few. The Ling cod fishing is out of control with anybody who wants to easily limiting out.
The people who are having the best success and limiting out on salmon are the diligent anglers who pay close attention to the Fishmasters’ tips and catch the first-light bite and are on the water salmon fishing for all of the slack tides.
Come up with the mindset of fishing hard and success will come.
